Hi, I'm Jodi Anne Roberts.
I started Customer Research Labs because I love helping entrepreneurs and growth leaders make better decisions. And the best decisions almost always come from the same place: a real understanding of your customers.
You know your business and your customers better than anyone. My job is to help you turn that knowledge into something clear enough to act on, and to bring the outside evidence that tells you where the real growth is hiding.
For more than a decade, I've helped dozens of companies turn customer knowledge into evidence they can act on, across SaaS, B2B, B2C, DTC, and nonprofits. I've spent my whole career in marketing, at agencies and companies from small startups to multi-billion-dollar businesses. I've built playbooks, led segmentation, and turned persona research into strategy. I was on the beta team that brought personas into HubSpot, and I've spoken about that work from the INBOUND stage. That's the experience I bring to your table.
But the reason I care so much comes from something more personal.
The shift
I've been the marketer who was guessing.
Earlier in my career, my lead numbers were low, my boss was on my case, and I felt lost and overwhelmed. I was losing sleep. What used to work just… wasn't anymore.
So we changed our approach. We talked to our customers, including the ones we lost, segmented them by who they actually were, and started speaking to what people were going through instead of how great our product was.

My process combines qualitative interviews, validation surveys, data analysis, messaging strategy, and AI-powered tooling. It doesn't end as a report. It becomes a living marketing foundation your team can build on, one that supports your emails, campaigns, content, sales follow-up, agency relationships, and future team growth.
